The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris

This book held me captive from the first line.  The author showed a time in history with such ugliness and dire consequences as one that also allowed the human spirit to exhibit it’s best as kind, compassionate, loving, and hopeful. There were many heroes during the Holocaust and this allows one to see a glimpse of that humanity and ingenuity that touched the lives of many.  Out of tremendous pain a beautiful love, life, and future bloomed.  The writing was so realistic I felt I was at a cinema with surround sound as the words filled my head.  This book should make us all grateful for our lives of freedom and aware of the power of the individual.  My heart hurt and was healed over and over again.  Heather Morris wrote a book that is beautifully descriptive and attuned to details for all the senses to grasp.

I haven’t written much during/since the COVID period. I’ll be back at it soon. Have a great holiday season and end of 2022.
